Chris goes to the Puppet Show (Thang Long Water Puppet Theatre)

Holy Puppets. I'm one month minus one day behind with posting.  NOT GOOD!

So there might be a few posts containing mostly pictures and mental notes (i.e. truncated text) to catch up.

Moon over Hanoi
When in Hanoi, a visit to the water puppet show is a MUST.  The theatre is right by the lake (restored sword) and if you don't get the tickets yourself, your hotel staff will send a runner to get one (!). Cost: $5.

I have a seat in the 3rd row !!!

Hoping there won't be any giants coming in late

music and voices

An instrument unlike any I have ever seen!  She plays it almost like a Theremin!

It's too dark to take decent pictures, so here are just a few:

dragons spitting fire

flooded fields being ploughed

wise turtle stole sword from warring party

The show lasts 45 minutes and I wasn't bored for a single second.  Even though vocals are in Vietnamese, the choreography makes it obvious what the meaning is.

HAVE to go again next time I'm here ;-)
