Nanaimo & 7th |
Having arrived in Vancouver, I visited Grandma for 2+ hours, caught a glimpse of cherry blossoms,
and picked up clean clothes from the amazing Laundromat at Commercial & 12th Avenue (Bachelor Service ;-). While staying at the Grouse Inn, I used their laundry facilities twice and went right back to bachelor service. Since the dryer did not completely dry the load of laundry, I had to run it twice, which brought the total to $7.50 + $1.50 for soap. On the other hand, for $10 my favourite laundromat gives me a larger load perfectly dry, very nicely folded, and without me having to wait around or switch loads, or constantly collect quarters.
Around 5pm I boarded another ferry (5 hours seemed long enough for a Vancouver stay). We had just left the dock when a look back revealed a mountain peak that seemed strangely fuzzy. Avalanche!

Avalanche! |
The rest of the journey was as picturesque as the beginning, and the commencing rain was welcome since it enhanced some of the pictures :-)
